• • Sydney R. Kokjohn is intellectual property counsel at Donaldson Company, Inc. (Bloomington, MN), a global leader in the filtration industry. Prior to joining Donaldson, she was a partner at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP in Chicago, IL, and was an adjunct professor at the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Before attending law school, Sydney graduated from Iowa State University (B.S., Chemical Engineering) and was a product development engineer at 3M.

  • Richard Bragg is the Sr. Manager of Legal & Compliance at Banner Engineering Corp., which develops and manufactures industrial sensors and illumination products worldwide.  Richard is responsible for managing global legal matters which include development agreements, intellectual property and licensing contracts as well as supporting human resources and sales teams in all markets and countries.  He has played a key role in establishing supply and development agreements with strategic partners in an increasingly demanding marketplace and expanding Banner’s intellectual property footprint.  Prior to joining Banner, Richard assisted a variety of clients in intellectual property protection and developed a variety of industrial and medical devices for 3M Company.  Richard earned his JD from William Mitchel College of Law, a Master of Science in Technology Management from the University of St. Thomas and Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

  • Alana Bergman is Senior Director, Intellectual Property, for Medtronic, the world’s largest medical device company.  Medtronic’s mission is to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Alana works in the Surgical Innovations group, which pioneers minimally invasive therapies for patients having surgery.  Alana manages a team of 6 experienced patent attorneys, who are spread across multiple time zones and 3 states.  She is active in women’s advocacy groups at Medtronic and has held leadership roles in philanthropic groups both at Medtronic and in her local community.
