About the Panelists:

Cy Morton is a Partner and Chair of the Patent Office Trials Group at Robins Kaplan. A trial attorney whose complex litigation practice has included an emphasis on patent litigation since 1998, his PTAB practice has led him to become the first, and still only, attorney in the country to handle all four types of post-grant proceedings under the America Invents Act. Cy is the only attorney ever to have a derivation proceeding instituted at the USPTO.

Kurt Niederluecke is an experienced trial lawyer focusing on complex intellectual property litigation, and is expert in coordinating IPR’s and district court litigation.

Jennifer Huang, managing principal of Fish & Richardson’s Minneapolis office, draws on her background in electrical engineering and over a decade of well-rounded legal practice to protect her clients’ diverse innovations through patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings.

Jeff Hohenshell has been a patent examiner, and in-house patent counsel for 3M, American Medical Systems, Medtronic, CSI, Inc. and now Abbott.  He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School where he teaches Patent Law Research.  He has significant experience in managing world-wide patent disputes including post grant proceedings such as oppositions and IPRs.  Jeff lives in Arden Hills with his wife Ann and their rescued pet talking birds that insult him every day.

Lindsay Hartman has a wealth of experience crafting prosecution strategies for medical devices, chemical and food, and the kitchen sink (literally, from her time in-house at Kohler). Lindsay’s current role is with Abbott Laboratories. Lindsay has seen the interaction of prosecution and litigation issues both in her in-house capacity and during her several years in private practice. Not content with solely cerebral pursuits, Lindsay is also an athlete and former Gopher hockey player who finds time to run marathons and volunteer with The Retrievers and Ruff Start Rescue.
